The Amici Quartet with Megan-Geoffrey Prins will present a programme featuring piano quintets by Schumann and Dvořák.
After the success of Concerts Connect’s premiere series of three concerts, audiences can once again look forward to world-class online concerts which will be streamed in support of partner music societies and concert series.
Concerts Connect is proud to present the Amici Quartet with Megan-Geoffrey Prins on 2 August 2020 from the historical Old Nectar in Stellenbosch. The stream will start at 15:30 with an introduction to the venue, the artists and partner organisations. The concert will start at 16:00. The programme will feature Schumann’s Piano Quintet and Dvořák’s Piano Quintet no. 2.
The Cape Town based Amici Quartet with Suzanne Martens, Petrus de Beer, Karin Gaertner and Peter Martens have appeared throughout South Africa to great critical acclaim. Megan-Geoffrey Prins was named as the 2019 Standard Bank Young Artist for Music and is currently a full-time lecturer in piano at the University of Pretoria.
Concerts Connect has partnered with Cape Town Concert Series, the Etienne Rousseau Theatre in Sasolburg, Fish Hoek Friends of Music, kayTee Soirées, Montagu Music Society, Overstrand Arts/Kunste, PE Music Society, and the University of Pretoria in presenting this concert.
